Kijkend naar de hoes van ThickShag & Marty weet je al hoe laat het is: In het begin zetten ze een jolige sfeer neer. Inhaken, geen zorgen voor morgen en gezellig meezingen bij de barbecue. Maar deze groep heeft ook een andere kant. Los van de meligheid namelijk staan er ook sterke nummers op als Your Vicious Lies en Get You Back waar wat dieper wordt gegraven. Met nummers als deze bewijst het duo dat ze aanstekelijke melodien kunnen schrijven. Tel daar een lekker, rauw stemgeluid bij op en ThickShag & Marty laten horen heel wat in hun mars te hebben.

Looking at the cover of ThickShag & Marty you know what time it is: it's Country time. They kick off in a jolly atmosphere. Hook in, no worries for tomorrow and a nice singalong by the barbecue. But this group has another side too. Apart from the cornyness, there are some stronger songs on it like Your Vicious Lies and Get You Back where they dig a little deeper. With songs like these the duo proves that they can write some contagious melodies. Add a nice, raw sounding voice to that and ThickShag & Marty show they have a lot going on.
