Ok, this one has been ANNOYING me for weeks, months even. When I log out of gmail, my absolute favorite service ever, my Firefox browser crashes very often, not all the time, but most of the time. Yes, I have Firebug installed, Yes, I know it's a known bug. Yes, I WANT IT TO STOP! I need Firebug, and I need gmail.
However, there are some workarounds:
-Quit using either Firebug or Gmail
-Switch to the "older version" interface of gmail prior to logging out
-Wait for either Firebug or gmail to be fixed
WHEN WILL THE HURTING STOP ???
Maybe when someone pays 45 billion dollars to someone else.

You could set up a second profile to run FireBug and just use that one when you're doing development/debugging and then use your normal profile when doing everything else.

I also have firebug. You can disable it for specifically for gmail.com, but have it running on other sites.
